Since having Narayan three years ago, wellness has taken on a new meaning for me. I used to work out for the pure energy boost and outward effects it had on my body. Now, I do it so I can be as strong and healthy as I can for the long-term. I walk almost daily with our English Bully, Kingston, and meet two to three times a week with a trainer to rehab my knees and address the sciatica issue I developed while I was pregnant.
Don’t get me wrong—it’s still nice to look in the mirror and see the payoff of all those hours spent in the gym, but now I’m working toward a bigger goal of wellness that includes how I feel on the inside when I’m being active. In addition to the endorphin rush I get from exercise, it also makes me feel a sense of accomplishment that translates into other parts of my life.
Part of my workout equation has always been to have the right clothes to work out in, because if I’m not feeling confident, it definitely affects my workout. As crazy as it sounds, sometimes looking in the mirror and seeing myself in an amazing pair of leggings that show off the muscles I’ve been building is that extra motivation I need to get out the door!
While there are some great plus-size athletic brands out there, I was especially excited to hear that Fabletics just extended their size range to include plus sizes! If you’re not familiar with the brand, it’s a great concept for anyone who appreciates stylish activewear without a hefty price tag. Not only does the company curate new selections for you to shop each month, but the amazing Flexible VIP Membership gets you up to 50 percent off retail prices, exclusive access to members-only collections and exciting community perks like free workout videos, exclusive content and offers from health and wellness experts., plus everyone can access the introductory offer, which is two pairs of leggings for $24!
I’m excited to partner with Fabletics to give away two $100 gift cards to one GWC reader and a friend to shop the latest collection! To enter, comment below and tag a friend to enter yourself and that friend—additional comments count as additional entries. The contest is open to residents in the US. Winners will be chosen at random and announced here on the blog on Monday 5/15, good luck!
