I receive lots of questions, and when I say lots I mean LOTS – some here on the site, some via email, some on social media – all of which I do my best to answer personally and promptly. Something I’ve always wanted to do is address questions here on the site in order to share them with the entire GWC community, in hopes that many more of you can benefit from hearing the answers. So without further delay, here are this month’s FAQ’s:
Q: With so many off-shoulder styles on trend for summer, I’m having trouble finding a strapless bra. Is there a certain brand you trust for the right fit and support? -Celina
A: I love Cacique’s Multi-Way Strapless in 36C to 46DDD, as well as Wacoal’s Red Carpet Convertible in 30DD to 42DDD. The trick with strapless bras is to buy your regular cup size, but go down a size in the band so it stays put! Another tip for off-shoulder styles is wearing your regular bra and simply wearing it off-shoulder by taking the straps down to mimic the off-shoulder of the top or dress.
Q: My first baby is due next month and I’d love recommendations on cute, comfy postpartum clothing. -Lindsay
A: Congratulations, how exciting! Try Asos – their selection is full of essentials and trendier pieces for a great price and they have a range of sizes from standard, plus, tall, petite and even maternity.
Q: I’m a college student on a budget. What’s the one trend I should invest in for Summer? -Amber
A: A great accessory can change an entire outfit and make even the simplest outfits look trendier. Right now I’m loving wicker and basket bags for summer – they’re lightweight and go with absolutely everything! Cult Gaia’s Ark is the IT BAG of the season.
Q: I’m planning a family trip for the first time in years and my son is a toddler like yours. Is there a favorite place your family likes visiting each year? -Lauren
A: I highly recommend a trip to Disney’s Aulani Resort in Ko’Olina if you ‘re looking for a tropical destination, there’s tons for the whole family to do. If you prefer an amusement park, Legoland California or Florida is great. There’s a water park as well as rides and an aquarium.
Q: I love your natural approach to beauty! What’s the one product I shouldn’t skip everyday if I’m not wearing makeup? -Tasha
A: Sunscreen! I love Peter Thomas Roth’s Instant Mineral SPF 45, it’s colorless and you can reapply throughout the day.
Q: I was hoping to get some advice on finding the right jeans. I struggle to find denim that fits well. Do you have any tips or tricks to find a great fitting pair? -Jill
A: My rule of thumb for any style denim is to make sure the fabric contains spandex, which gives them stretch in order to conform to curves and fit like a glove, regardless of your shape or size. My current personal favorite are these Old Navy’s Rockstar skinnies, here in size 0-20 and here in size 16-30.
