I can hardly believe I’ll be welcoming a new baby in less than 2 weeks! Dave and I will be back in new parent mode before we know it, so we’ve wanted to take a baby moon so we could spend quality time together before then. We’ve been super busy with the holidays approaching, but setting aside a weekend to escape on our own was super important to us.
We’re also in the market for a new SUV for our growing family—something big enough for all five of us, including Kingston, for our weekend excursions. So when Volvo asked if we’d like to test out its XC90 luxury SUV, we couldn’t have been more excited!
Last weekend, we packed our bags and made our way out to Carmel, our favorite beach town, stopping for an early dinner at my favorite restaurant in Los Gatos along the way. When it comes to cars, safety is first for us, followed by function and style. Something I love about the XC90 is that it’s family-friendly, but also a car you can take out on date night or on girls’ trips without it feeling like you’re still headed to soccer practice. Though it’s a really practical SUV, it’s also really sleek—there’s so much attention to detail in the design, making even a short drive feel luxurious. Plus, it comes with some really cool features, like auto-breaking technology in case you get too close to another vehicle, a 360-degree camera that gives you a bird’s eye view of everything around you, massagers in the seats (seriously!) and an incredible sound system with nineteen (!) speakers throughout the car. We also found out the XC90 was the 2017 Top Safety Pick, which immediately made it a top contender as our new family car.
Dave and I had an amazing weekend together, getting in a few last date nights alone and exploring the coast—and it felt extra special having a beautiful car like this to do it in. Thanks to Volvo for making it possible!
