Other than the occasional bold lip, I like to keep my makeup pretty natural, so emphasizing my lashes every day is a must! I’m all about fuss-free beauty, and while false lashes can look great for photo shoots or special occasions, I regularly use more natural methods to achieve a maxed-out lash effect.
If you, too, are hoping for fuller lashes without the falsies, here are a few ways to get that “wow” factor on your own at home.
Whether I use mascara or not, I always curl my eyelashes – it immediately opens up the eye area and makes lashes look longer. To get an even more professional-looking curl, heat your eyelash curler with a blow dryer for 10 seconds before you curl (but be sure to test the curler on your hand before putting it to your lash line to make sure it’s not too hot).
Applied before your mascara, primer creates more surface area for the mascara to adhere to and helps it last longer. Some formulas even contain conditioners like vitamin E to strengthen your lashes and help them grow.
It sounds weird, but it works! Dust a little bit of translucent powder on your lashes between coats to get an even fuller lash look.
All mascaras are not created equal, so opt for one that’s specifically formulated to fatten up your lashes without clumping or multiple coats. Many also have special brushes that help evenly distribute and build up the product for a more dramatic effect.
