One of my favorite styling tricks from the 90’s is wearing a shirt under a dress.
Not only does this styling trick add dimension to the overall look, it also lets you wear short sleeve or spaghetti strap dresses if you’re a conservative or modest dresser. The key to making this work is to wear shirts that have a slimmer fit through the body, so they don’t bunch and add bulk underneath the dress. Sweaters or turtlenecks can also work, as long as you get the right fit.
I personally love putting a playful bow neck blouse underneath a spaghetti strap dress like I did here — it adds a vintage touch I can’t get enough of!
