As some of you may have noticed, I’m sans makeup most days, but I do like a pop of color on my lips. For me, it’s the easiest way to look put together with little effort, even when I’m not wearing a full face of makeup!
One thing I enjoy doing when I get dressed, is pairing the perfect lip color with each outfit. Sometimes it’s a color that matches the clothes (like a red dress paired with red lips), and sometimes I want my lip color to stand out on its own.
Here are 5 of my most frequently worn lip colors, and examples of the outfits I pair them with:
A bright, bold orange is the perfect accent for neutral clothing in black, white, tan, all taupes and browns, as well as timeless classics like navy and forrest green.
Bonus: this orange contains a hint of red, which makes it ultra flattering on many different skin tones.
This cherry tone pairs well with navy, white, all neutrals, as well as metallics. For a fun statement, match your lip color to your clothes the way I did here, matching just the stripe on the dress.
Of all the lip colors in my collection, this one is the most statement-making. It's a unique pink with a hint of purple, which pairs well with everything from navy to neutrals like taupe, beige, brown, black and white.
This is my favorite pink. It has a slight purple undertone so it's certainly bright, but still pairs well with virtually any color clothing. I personally love a bold pink like this paired with navy, black, white, browns, purples, and even red if I don't want the lip color to compete with my clothing.
This is the prettiest coral tone I've ever come across in a lipstick! It looks amazing with jewel tones like cobalt, emerald and mustard, as well as neutrals, and best of all, it complements all skin tones. (Trust me, I've seen it on everyone I know and it looks amazing!).
