I don’t know about you, but I’ve been itching for a tropical getaway for months! Luckily, the wait is finally over and I’m headed to Hawaii this weekend with my boys (my husband, Dave, and son, Narayan). As with any vacation, the first thing I think about is what I’m going to pack!

We’ll be spending most days outdoors and evenings exploring in the tropical breeze, so I’ve packed dresses that are versatile enough to go from day to nigh without the fuss of having to change my shoes and accessories.

Most importantly, all of the styles I’m taking are travel-ready, meaning they’re lightweight so they aren’t too bulky in my suitcase and the fabric is breathable as well as wrinkle-proof so I don’t need to iron or steam upon unpacking (definitely not something I want to do when I’m on vacation)!

Here are a few of the dress coming with me on the trip, and some currently on my wish list:

THE SUNDRESS

A little retro and super feminine, a classic sundress is the perfect look for going out on the town, day or night.

THE MAXI

I love a sand-grazing maxi for the evening especially. The unstructured silhouette is elegant and the length keeps my legs warm if the breeze picks up.

THE OFF-SHOULDER

No tropical vacation is complete without a romantic off-shoulder dress. I love a flowy fabric with a fitted waistline, which add just the right hint of sexiness without showing too much skin.

THE SWING DRESS

When I want to keep things a bit more casual, I opt for a loose-fitting swing dress. Because most are made of jersey material, you can easily throw it on over your swimsuit and be on your way.
