In the past, I couldn’t quite figure out how to make the slim puffer (a.k.a. quilted jacket) trend work with my wardrobe. It always felt a little too outdoorsy and bulky for everyday wear. But as I was getting ready for New York a couple weeks ago, I realized a regular cardigan just wouldn’t cut it in the snow, and I would need a wind-proof layer to keep me warm as I ran around the city.

In my search for the perfect piece, I came across this collarless take on the puffer and it’s totally changed my mindset! It’s more demure than sporty and kind of reminds me of a less-edgy bomber jacket, which makes it way easier to style in a polished way.

I love the look of a peplum top peeking out from the hem of any cropped jacket, so I started there and added dark denim jeans and pumps for a dinner date. Because the jacket is fitted and has feminine details (the buttons are so sleek!), it can easily be dressed up or down. Plus, it’s lightweight and doesn’t wrinkle- necessities for winter!
