Some people may warn you to stay away from stripes because they’re “unflattering” on curvy figures, but I’m going to set the record straight today: stripes look fantastic on every shape, whether you’re a size 2 or 22!

Out of all prints, stripes are the most versatile. They’re effortlessly classy, can be easily dressed up or down, worn as an accent, and can even be paired with other prints, like polka dots or florals. Seriously, the possibilities are endless! (And if you’ve been following this blog for a while, you know I can’t get enough of them in my wardrobe, flattering or not.)

The key to finding a flattering stripe dress is knowing what size stripe and placement look best on your body – and as this dress (also here) proves, they don’t always have to be evenly spaced or strictly vertical. Actually, the more creative you get with your stripes, the more head-turning your look becomes. I love how the large scale chevron stripe and A-line silhouette on the bottom of this dress play off each other to accentuate my curves, and how the cold-shoulder detail makes the look fun, flirty, and unique. I couldn’t get behind the cold-shoulder trend before, but this dress has totally changed my mind about it!
