As I’ve mentioned before, I had a hard time getting on the embroidery trend train until this summer. As pretty as it was on other people, I just couldn’t see myself in it — until I found this top a few months ago, and now this bell-sleeved dress.

I love this dress because it’s classic black, but the embroidery gives it a little of-the-moment style upgrade. The embroidery is also focused on just the sleeves and hem, which keeps the overall vibe sleek and elongating, rather than frumpy and visually overwhelming like lots of embroidered dresses can be.

I’ll be wearing this look (as I’ve been wearing all of my dresses lately!) with my summer go-to accessories: nude tone sandals, a nude basket bag and gold earrings. With embroidery, you want to keep the rest of the look uncomplicated, because the extra detailing goes a long way!
