When you think of a ‘power suit,’ you probably think of a sophisticated blazer-and-pants combo that has a slightly masculine vibe. Something that’s a bit intimidating to look at and, sometimes, also to wear!

So when I sat down to design my version of a power suit for my Girl With Curves x Lane Bryant collection, I wanted to make it feel more feminine and flattering — a sleek look that works at the office and for events, but also modestly highlights the beautiful curves of a woman’s body so she feels confident in any situation. The pants have a slimming skinny leg with a high rise waist, while the peplum blazer buttons all the way up, and even looks great with jeans.

Here, I styled the suit with a simple black clutch and lilac pumps as a fashion-forward accent. It’s a great look for a night on the town, but all you have to do is swap in your favorite tote and you’re ready for the office!
