The weather has been unpredictable during this transition out of winter, so I’ve been coming up with some new ways to style my spring wardrobe so I can wear it now while it’s still on the cooler side and later once it warms up.

I’ve been itching to wear this slipdress, but it’s been a bit too cold to wear on its own. Playing with unexpected layering is one of my favorite styling tricks, so I decided to give it a go by layering a tie-neck blouse underneath, making it cool-weather appropriate and a bit more modest.

I love the result! It’s a little bit flirty but also classic and polished. I could totally see myself wearing this look to work meetings with tights and pumps on cooler days, or paired with a classic pump and statement necklace for a night out in the coming months.

Both of these pieces are recent Nordstrom Encore finds, one of my favorite places to find some of the best plus options of the season, from classics with modern with of-the-moment details like this dress and blouse, to trendier pieces like the runway-inspired floral maxi I wore last week. The quality and fit are always perfect, and there’s a huge selection so you can mix and match as I did here!
