If you’re wondering why I’ve shared so many dresses recently, it’s because there are so many amazing choices this season! Even if you’re not typically a “dress person,” I urge you to step outside your comfort zone – and what better way to do it than with this gorgeous Bardot-style midi dress?
Not only is the classic sunflower print perfect for summer, it’s literally cut in my dream silhouette! Inspired by the famed off-the-shoulder styles worn by Brigitte Bardot, the 1950s and ‘60s film icon, this Bardot dress is fitted at the waist and flows beautifully down to the mid-calf – I wish all dresses were cut like this! I felt like a screen goddess as soon as I put it on.
The off-shoulder trend is going strong for summer, and this dress is no exception. It’s demure yet sexy, and keeps your décolleté cool on hot days, which is always a plus.
While I paired the dress with nude flats here, it also works with low-cut white sneakers for a more casual look, or if you want to dress it up for dinner or a night out, block heel sandals or colorful pumps. It’s truly a versatile dress that can easily be dressed up or down depending on the accessories you pair it with.
I decided to play off the vintage vacation feel of the dress’s silhouette, so I added my favorite wide-brimmed sunhat, wicker bag and white sunglasses. Wearing a jacket can be tricky with this type of shoulder cut, so carrying a shawl or looser-cut lightweight coat is a good idea if you think it will get chilly at night. But rest assured, this dress will sizzle on its own!

STYLE TIP
No strapless bra required!
Just pull your bra straps down to mimic the off-shoulder of the dress and voilá!
