Sweetheart Dress, Boater Hat

I’m not a fan of tube dresses- they’re just a bit too revealing for my taste and it’s hard to pull one off when you have am ample bust. However, there’s a layering trick I recently tried that actually worked, so I thought I’d share it!

I loved this midi dress so much, that I refused to pass it up, and made it my mission to figure out how to make it work. My solution: layering a crop top underneath!

(Please excuse the wrinkles, compliments of my son, who refused to sit anywhere but on my lap during brunch)!

The key to pulling this off without the layering-effect looking obvious, is making sure the necklines of the dress and top are similar. In this case, one is sweetheart and one is v-neck, but both plunge down into a point.

So next time you pass up a tube dress just because you aren’t comfy exposing so much skin, give this trick a try! And please be sure and share your version of this look on instagram by tagging @girlwithcurves, I’d love to see your looks!
