Horizontal stripes have been a fashion faux-paux for as long as I can remember, and with the nautical trend going strong in its 2nd year, it’s no wonder we’re currently seeing the horizontal-stripe have its 15 minutes (or maybe even 30 min!) in the spotlight.
Although this trend is having a major moment right now, the fashion industry says that not all of us can, or should, wear horizontal stripes. As a GWC (aka Girl With Curves), I’ve always thought fashion rules were meant to be broken, and for the record- anything that creates the illusion of making things appear larger is great for my best assets! LOL.
That said, I’ve been on the lookout for a striped-top for some time now, and this one immediately won me over with its beaded shoulder embellishments and extra-long length.
Paired with ankle jeans, a cardi and heels, I’m loving the fashionable ease of this look, and could care-or-less about the faux-paux that is the horizontal-stripe.
What are your thoughts- are horizontal stripes a do or a don’t?
