When all else fails, refer back to the basics! A neutral, go-anywhere ensemble is a curvy girl’s (stylish) best friend.

One of my un-defined (until now!) getting dressed rules, is: when lacking color and accessories, express your style with texture and detail.
The tweed, bell-sleeved blazer with over-sized buttons and a permanently-popped collar, adds texture, personality, and a touch of girly detail.
The tripple-wrapped leather belt and suede boots add an additional element of texture, and counter-act the girly blazer with a bit of edge.
How do you do basics?
