For me, dressing for a holiday function comes down to two things: comfort and style! Whether that means a dress, skirt and blouse pairing or a festive top and pants like I’m wearing here, there’s no wrong way to get dressed up this season.
This year, I’m venturing away from the typical holiday dress and going for holiday-worthy separates – think sheer fabrics, fun details, unexpected color, animal prints and statement accessories! I recently got this entire look at Nordstrom, shoes and bag included. They always have such great trend-driven pieces as well as seasonal staples that speak to my modern-classic personal aesthetic. This season, the options are endless with brands like Halogen, who makes the majority of their styles in straight and plus sizes!
To me, this look is a perfect take on festive, holiday separates. The sheer, polka dot top is perfect for an office party, but also works for date night and Valentine’s Day. The wide leg cropped pant is a great alternative to a skinny because it pairs amazingly well with ankle-strap shoes, and I’m loving the bold color, button details, and the fact that I can wear them with a blazer in a more professional setting.
