Tanesha awasthi of @GirlWithCurves featuring a gender reveal, and its a...

For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted a boy and then a girl, so my daughter would have an older brother and my son could be a big brother. I guess it was in the cards (or the Shettles Method my sister recommended we try, actually worked) because it’s a GIRL!

I found out baby’s gender around 12 weeks thanks to the option of having a genetics test – one of the perks of being an expectant mom over 35, but Dave wanted to be surprised. So I made up a fun game for him and Narayan, although Dave swears my huge smile gave it away immediately!

This past weekend, we did a gender reveal cake-cutting to share the news with the rest of the family. It was the most adorable thing ever, watching Narayan cut the cake, asking “is it pink inside mama, is it pink?!”

All he’s been talking about for the past year is wanting a little sister. Every time we told him it might be a brother, he said “no, it’s a sister” with such confidence, we all started to believe it! Luckily he was right, because we were so worried he’d be crushed if in fact he wasn’t getting a little sister.

6 months along as of this week, I’m still in shock that in just a few short months we’ll have a baby girl in the house. I’ve been surrounded by boys in my immediate family for so long that it’s unreal to think I’ll be shopping for a little lady very soon!

Words can’t express how excited we are – the shock hasn’t worn off just yet and my heart is full knowing my son will have the little sister he always wanted.

Check out the announcement here in case you missed it.
