1. My Hair is Much Healthier
Ever since I adopted a whole food plant based diet last year, my hair started growing extremely fast. I’ve also battled dryness and frizz my entire life, but after changing the way I eat, my hair is shinier and more moisturized than ever – even my eyelashes are longer now!
Overall, my hair is much healthier and I’m beyond excited for the change.
2. Improved Mood & Energy Level
After changing the way I fuel my body through food, the depression and anxiety I’ve battled since the age of 12 is virtually non-existent, thanks to the natural mood boosting properties in berries like blueberries and raspberries, and all the starch-based carbs I eat on a daily basis, including oatmeal, rice, beans and pasta.
Even my energy level has greatly improved – I honestly feel like I’m 25 again, and I’m turning 40 this March!
3. Sleep Issues are More Manageable
Ever since being pregnant with my son (who turns 7 next week!), I’ve struggled with insomnia, which turned into sleep deprivation over time, which then heightened my depression and anxiety over the years.
Since adopting a whole food plant based diet though, my sleep issues have are much more manageable with daily exercise and a mindful relaxation routine before bed.
4. No More Chronic Underarm Sweat
Before changing my diet, I had a chronic sweaty underarm issue, along with some pretty gnarly odor. No matter what product I used, what fabric I wore or how I removed the hair in that area, nothing helped – and trust me when I say I tried everything, including prescription deodorants.
Shortly after I went plant based though, I noticed a major change: my underarm odor completely went away, and now the only time I sweat in that area is after an actual run on the treadmill! Now I use natural deodorant most days (this one’s my favorite), or nothing at all.
5. Nonexistent PMS Symptoms
Gone are the excruciating cramps, headaches, rollercoaster mood swings and hormonal cravings I use to experience during that time of the month, and I couldn’t be happier!
