I’ve always loved wrap dresses because it’s literally the dress that’s flattering on everyone, regardless of shape or size. It offers a feminine A-line silhouette that’s also adjustable, meaning you can wear the same dress for years, even as your size fluctuates, and it will still look like it fits like a glove. Plus it’s super comfy and appropriate for a variety of occasions: date night, drinks with the girls, and even work events if the style is office-friendly.
Not surprisingly, when I spotted this dress, I was sold! I usually don’t gravitate toward pink, but this fuchsia color is fresh, bold and plays nicely against the softer, feminine shape and detailing of the dress. And it definitely makes heads turn!
Technically this dress has a faux wrap, meaning only the top half is adjustable, but the skirt is flowy enough to allow for movement. Plus, it’s totally bump friendly for those of us who are expecting. It also has some of the prettiest details, like the cold-shoulder and flutter sleeves, which just so happen to be two of my favorite trends this summer: off-shoulder tops and ruffles. The spaghetti strap addition, however, makes this dress even more practical, as you don’t have to worry about it slipping down and the wrap chest offers additional support up top. (Here’s the strapless bra I wore with it).
When styling bold colors like this one, I generally prefer to keep the rest of the look neutral so the color can really be the main focal point. I chose nude sandals because they look sexy but offer extra ankle and heel support – something we can all use more of, baby bump or not, and a nude tone always elongates the body.
