Ever since moto jackets emerged as a wardrobe staple a couple seasons ago, I’ve admired them from afar, thinking I could never pull off such a tough, edgy style. But fashion isn’t about ignoring things you admire, just because you think they won’t work. Sometimes, it’s about finding a way to make the trend work with your personal style- putting your own twist on a certain trend, and making it your own.
That said, I’ve been in search of the perfect leather moto jacket for as long as I can remember, so when Wilsons Leather asked if I wanted to choose one from their latest collection, I couldn’t resist the challenge! A moto jacket isn’t typically something I’d classify as classic or girly (like the majority of my wardrobe), but when it’s black in color, with a hint of shine, has an asymmetrical zipper, adjustable waist tabs for a custom fit, an oversized collar, and looks good both open and closed, what more could a girl ask for?! Paired with a ladylike blouse, ankle skinnies and pumps, I’m loving my feminine twist on this edgy trend.
