As an esthetician and a girl who’s passionate about skin care, I’ve done facials using all sorts of products from frou frou fancy to budget-friendly. After trying both, I can tell you from experience that it’s completely possible to get a spa quality facial at home!
My favorite place to shop products that give amazing results without breaking the bank is Sally Beauty. Here’s a step-by-step guide to giving yourself (or a friend) a spa quality facial using products under $50:
Supplies:
Toner
2 Washcloths
Cotton Balls
Optional: Chilled Cucumber Slices
1. Remove Makeup
Using a makeup remover wipe (or any makeup remover applied to a cotton ball), remove all makeup from eyes, lips and face.
2. Cleanse
Apply a generous amount of cleanser to face, starting at your chin and working your way up, in a circular motion.
Remove cleanser using a washcloth ran under warm water.
3. Exfoliate & Steam
Gently rub exfoliating scrub onto face in a circular motion.
Run a washcloth under hot water, wring out excess water, then drape washcloth over face for 5 minutes.
Remove exfoliating scrub with a washcloth ran under warm water.
4. Clay Mask
Apply clay mask to face (leaving space around the eye area).
Leave on for 15 minutes.
Remove mask with a wash cloth ran under warm water.
5. Moisturizing Mask
Apply moisturizing mask to face (leaving space around the eye area).
Optional: place chilled cucumber slices over eyes to soothe and reduce puffiness.
Leave on for 10 min.
Remove with a washcloth ran under cool water.
6. Tone
Dampen a cotton ball with alcohol free toner and gently sweep across face.
7. Moisturize
Apply moisturizer to face and neck in an upward motion, starting at the neck and working your way up the entire face.
