On the Spring 2013 runway, Michael Kors amped-up the stripe trend by pairing stripes of the same color, in different widths.

I love Michael Kors’ belly baring version of the double striped look, however, runway fashion isn’t always meant to be interpreted literally.  The beauty of runway inspiration is taking the trend and making it your own!  

My real girl take on this look features a high-waisted pencil skirt with thin stripes, paired with a top of the same color with much wider stripes, which I tucked under, to expose just a sliver of skin.
