Surviving the Humidity in NYC

Suitcase Flat Lay by Tanesha Awasthi, founder of Girl With Curves.

I was in New York last week for work, and while I love traveling, it takes such a huge toll on my hair. My Bay Area hometown is relatively dry most of the year, so I’ve been able to manage my hair’s lack of moisture and frizz by continuing my three-step Pantene regimen (using the Moisture Renewal ShampooConditioner and the Style Series Maximum Hold Mousse), but having to manage my curly hair problems in a city that’s really humid posed extra challenges.

All my curly girls reading this would agree that while we love our curls, they can be so hard to manage during seasonal changes, travel to different climates and even hormonal changes! Luckily though, the next product on my list of must tries through my partnership with Pantene was the Daily Moisture Renewal 3 Minute Miracle Deep Conditioner.

Before my trip to New York, I knew my hair would need the extra moisture due to the humidity and heat styling on the set of an important shoot, so it was the perfect time to put the deep conditioner to the test! I used it the day I flew in and again the next time I co-washed (aka washed my hair with conditioner only). It’s super effective, injecting extra moisture into hair to withstand the harshest environment, yet so gentle you can even use it everyday if needed! I’m happy to report that even through the humidity and a full day of hairstyling changes during the shoot, my curls are still healthier and moisturized than ever.
