In the past, finding a special occasion dress was a major task. Why? Because who wants to splurge on something that will probably only get worn once?!

Now, thanks to Gwynnie Bee’s monthly clothing borrowing service, I can put several possible dress options into my virtual closet, and expect a couple of my choices in the mail by the time my special event rolls around. To me, borrowing from Gwynnie Bee makes searching for a special occasion dress, a stress-free experience! 

But how does one choose the perfect dress, when the website presentation doesn’t reflect your personal style? 

This is one of the most frequent questions I receive as a style blogger, and I’m here to help!  The key to making an item your own is imagining a couple of different ways you could style it using the items in your wardrobe.  Imagine putting your own twist on it, by incorporating your fave accessories that fit the occasion. This could mean wearing a completely different color shoe than the one shown on the site, adding earrings, a bracelet, the perfect bag, and maybe even a fancy jacket.
